Video: Research & Key Questions raised at our open call sessions

Concept

In a full cinema, one film flickers
yet each of us view the said film differently.

What do we see? How do we see?

What if the same film seen by different users generated
a multitude of film possibilities?

The Challenge:

Develop a digital media installation
employing the University of Edinburgh's
Eyetracking technology,
Max/MSP, Jitter,
Sony Vegas, Final Cut Pro & Pro Tools.

Our Digital Media Studio project team has attempted
to devise a film factory based on the theme "Attention".

A film project that presents
everyday ordinary "unwanted" footage
which the viewer transforms into the extraordinary by their GAZE. An example of Malcom Le Grice's expanded non-narrative and transformed image cinema.

Heavily indebted to Malcom Le Grice, Mike Figgis' "Time Code", Kuleshov effect and Borges' notion of Circular time.
